Welcome to Ninja Soft Corps' site!

Spotlight: JTGWAALA Project and video tutorials under development.

January 20th, 2012

Giving a heads up on some things. First, the website will be undergoing maintenance both today and tomorrow off and on. If you start seeing pages go down or links not working for the next two days, that's why. I am trying to make more project pages, as well as change the format I have on the current ones. I'll also be doing maintenance on the website forum, so do expect changes there as well. If you have something you wish to inform me about that might need to be added, removed, changed, or more inquiry about, just go to the "Contacts" page and contact me in one of those locations ( prefer email or perhaps a PM in the forum ).

With all that said, I've finished some of my tutorials I have been doing, and will be uploading them in the next couple of days. You will see links to them here when they are ready. I have also gone into the job of remastering some of my older projects so that I have more to submit to the website. Yesterday evening I spent my time at a local elementary school during Math and Science night. While there, I set up a station of 5 machines each with 5 games I brought for them to play and ask "How did you make this?". I saw them having lots of fun on my games, but I also noticed glitches, things that needed to be added for more entertainment purposes, etc. I also wanted to touch up on my old game projects and take out content that wasn't suited for kids to play ( my much older games had simple blood animations, bloody spikes, etc ). I've never used foul language in my games, though one of the references in Tramptrolline ( Piccolo blowing up the moon ) has him say one word of choice I missed when adding.

All-in-all, expect new content, new additions, changes, etc. Thank you for those who do check in every now and then and give me encouragement, it doesn't fall on deaf ears!

Development of "Jim, The Guy With An Abnormally Large Appetite" is going well. I've created several new sprites, tiles, audio, and more! You can check progress on it as they are being made by going to the Google Code project page and check under "Updates". The project page can be found here:

The Youtube videos that I mentioned ( and promised ) earlier are still being made, but the reason I'm not posting them quite yet is due to creating a complete text version for each video tutorial. Originally, I was just making an overview text version for each video, nothing in-depth that could be provided as a supplement or even as an entire replacement of the video if needed. Therefore, I've made it my new effort to not only create decent video tutorials, but to have equally decent text tutorials that flow exactly like the videos. I'll also be uploading any sample code we create along the way of development in the tutorials for ease of learning. Don't worry, they are still on the way, just taking longer than expected for quality.

The last thing I wanted to mention in this announcement is that I will be working on the "Project" section of the site. I will be making the project pages slightly different, and I will also be posting old projects that I completed but never displayed here.

Just giving a heads up on the latest project I am creating. It's a 2D Platformer made using C++ and my own personal engine/library. I have already gone into day three of development ( today of this announcement ), and have made some artwork for the game. I will be posting updates on progress on the forum, and will only make announcments on it's status here on the index page when there is a milestone reached. The game is titled "Jim, The Guy With An Abnormally Large Appetite". It features the main character Jim going through the game world fighting and eating evil foods in an attempt to satisfy his hunger ( which will never happen...or will it? ). The game is similar to the classic Super Mario World games, so expect that to be a rough idea of what it will be like. I'd also like to give a quick update on the progress of the video tutorials mentioned in the previous announcement. I have already finished three of them in written form with all the material nice and organized. I have also finished the first video with creation. Now, I need to upload that first video when I get the chance, and then create a section in the website for the video tutorials. Expect to see this new section of the website either today or tomorrow!

The Letter Puzzle game is finished! Tonight I will be finishing up creating an installer file for deployment, and will finish the project page for it as well. I'm also going to be doing some work on the site itself too, so expect improvements soon!

Starting in the next few days, I will be creating video tutorials for Computer Programming/Software Development. I will also be making project video blogs to cover over the step-by-step process of creating a project ( in my scaling of course ). These tutorials will be hosted on Youtube and will be available to view directly on this website via embedded videos. On Youtube, they will be made for the TSF Youtube Channel as well as my own personal Youtube channel. TSF stands for "Tech Support Forum", and is a great place to get tech support for virtually any situation. The tutorials are intended to be for TSF's channel, but I will be hosting the videos I create on my channel as well so that I don't feel bad embedding them into the site ( and I want to be able to have complete freedom with the videos once I create them, aside from uploading them ).

The tutorials will cover everything from choosing and setting up an IDE, the basic programming concepts, syntax of languages, to mathematical computation, practical commenting conventions, fundamental networking, game development, project organization, and deployment of the project. I'm hoping that they will be both educational and fun for anyone who watches them!

I've been working on a letter puzzle game the past several weeks ( as well as working on a development library for myself ). So far, I have completed everything but the 5x5 mode in the game. To understand what I mean, and to test the game as of right now, go to the projects page and see the description of the game itself.

Just a quick update. Tramptrolline is now able to be run natively on Windows Vista and Windows 7 machines. Download the latest version of Tramptrolline for this capability though. Here's the download link:

Tramptrolline is officially finished! The final updated link is on the game's project page, so I hope everyone enjoys it! If someone by chance finds a bug in-game, please report it to me and I'll assess if it's worth another update even after this final official one ( only if it's pretty bad ). Also, if there are several small bugs, that will call for a new updated link. I spent as much time as possible debugging the game to prevent this, but some bugs will get by me.

The sequel to Tramptrolline ( Tramptrolline 2 ) is right now in the concept and thought stage at the moment, and I'm still trying to determine whether I should continue the game or not. If I do, I'll definitely focus more on the visuals of the game, as well as trying to polish it up to look more professional and less thrown together, which believe me I had no intention of doing. If the sequel is confirmed to be made, expect an update here about the status of it. In the meantime, I might sway into another project entirely. Who knows at this point.

For those who haven't noticed, the site has an IRC chat room. If you'd like to drop in and want to chat, people pop in and out frequently throughout the day. The rules are very straight-forward: As long as you don't flame or harass others ( unless they like it of course ), you can troll or do whatever you please.

The latest version of Tramptrolline ( it's final release ) was scheduled to be released August 4th of this year. However, due to some technical issues with the game, I've been forced to postpone this final release until either today or tomorrow. However, I am uploading the most refined part of the game so far ( it will cut you out during game-play, so don't worry about when it cuts out ).

Sorry for this inconvenience, and I hope you enjoy the pre-final release of the game!

The website has finally been made and hosted. Tell me what you think of it in the site forum. Also, check out the projects posted on the "Projects" page. If you want to get in touch with me, whether to comment on the site or to ask a question, please see the "Contact" page.

Thanks you for visiting the site, and I hope you enjoy the material here as well as to come!
